The meeting at Ensley park in Birmingham was a very hard fought game from the beginning.  In the first inning both teams were able to put on three runs.  Kevin Covington was able to hit a three run home run to keep the Blue Sox in the game.  It wasn’t until the sixth inning until Kevin once again was able to hit a single to give Nico McElrath chance to hit him in.  Jayde Boatfield came into the game to hit a single to right field to bring the Sox with in one run.

In the eighth inning Shawn Covington was able to walk on to first base and steal second afar a couple of pitches.  Kevin Covington hits a double to bring in his older brother for the last of the Sox run of the game.

After two men on base in the tenth inning the Butler Bombers coaches put a suicide squeeze that won the game.
